It was either ’98 or ’99. I was (about 15 and) unsure of myself, trying to figure out where I fit in in the world and who I wanted to be. Meanwhile, my best friend was almost the complete opposite. She was self-assured and wise, knew what she wanted out of life, and even that she wanted to be a Mom one day.
I remember we were on the phone and she told me she had a dream the night before, of her walking in her hall and then hearing a little voice calling her Mama. She turned around and saw that it was a little girl, and she couldn’t stop telling me how happy and at peace she felt, like this was exactly how it was meant to be.
A decade and half later: Nurul, the love of her life, and their beautiful daughter Nyla ‘Afiah.
(We’ll be having a June Holiday/Pre-Hari Raya Special soon. : ) Details will be out next week. Meanwhile, you can check out more of our family sessions here.)
